To Our Ciccone Orthodontic Families,

First and foremost, we hope this letter finds you and your family safe and healthy. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all who have been and continue to be affected by this crisis. We as a community have endured a tremendous amount over the last few months, and all of us are looking forward to resuming some semblance of our normal routines. While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your safety.

Infection control has always been a top priority for our practice, and you may have seen this during your visits to our office. Our infection control procedures are designed so that when you receive care, it is both safe and comfortable. As you can imagine, much has changed in our office to ensure everyones safety.

Dr. Ciccone follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and the New York State Dental Association (NYSDA). He closely monitors the activities of these agencies so we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued.

You may see some changes when it is time for your next appointment. These temporary changes have been implemented for the safety and well-being of our patients and staff, and will include the following:

  • We will be scheduling significantly fewer patients per day to ensure social distancing guidelines are maintained.

  • We kindly ask for you to remain in your car when you arrive for your appointment and call our office. One of our amazing staff members will inform you when it is time to be seated.

  • Please limit office visits to only the patient if possible; otherwise, only one accompanying parent/guardian, if necessary.

  • We have hand sanitizer that we will ask you to use when you enter the office. You will also find some in the reception area and other places in the office for you to use as needed.

  • Please be aware that face coverings are required for all who enter the office.

  • Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients. That might mean you are offered fewer options for scheduling your appointment; however, please know we will do our best to accommodate your specific needs.

  • As recommended by the ADA, we will be verifying everyones temperature with a touchless thermometer. Any patient with a reading over 100 degrees F will be asked to reschedule after a 14-day self-quarantine has been fulfilled.

  • As recommended by the ADA, we will request you to fill out a brief screening questionnaire to assess Covid-19 risk.

  • All magazines have been removed from the reception area.

  • The game center has been removed from the reception area.

  • Plexiglass dividers have been installed in the reception area.

  • The reception area has been limited to a total of three chairs to ensure proper social distancing.

  • In addition to these changes we are also requiring all staff members, including Dr. Ciccone, to verify their temperatures when they enter the office. The same protocols apply to them as they do for our patients.

We at Ciccone Orthodontics care deeply for all our patients, and value the relationships we have built together over the years. We are honored to have you has our patients and think of you all as an extension of our family. At Ciccone Orthodontics we are all family, and we will all get through this together.

We look forward to seeing you again soon and are happy to answer any and all questions you may have about the steps we take to keep you and your loved ones safe in our practice.

Warmly,

Dr. Rich Ciccone and our amazing staff
